Slovakia’s national motorway company 5891 NDS said it would tender the second stage of the 10.2km R4 Presov northern bypass during the first half of 2018. The project is estimated to be worth around €314 million.

A tender for the first stage of the extension of the D1 motorway stretch Bratislava-Senec leading up to Triblavina crossroad, worth around €80 million, is also likely by mid-2018.

In the second half of 2018 tenders for four R2 stretches are planned. These include the Kosice,Saca-Kosicke Olsany section which could cost around €404 million and a14km stretch from Roznava to Jablonov nad Turnou that cost nearly €305 million.

Meanwhile, NDS said it needs more than €1.7 billion for nine priority road projects, of which around €1.5 billion would be spent on construction works alone.
