Slovakia highway funding secured

Funding is now secured for the Budimir-Bidovce stretch of Slovakia’s D1 highway project. In addition, the funding for the Kosicke Olsany-Hrasovik stretch of the R2-R4 expressway has been secured. The EU’s Cohesion Fund will supply €173 million for the work, which is intended to cut congestion and journey times. New interchanges and noise reduction systems will be built. Also included will be the construction of 23 new bridges.

  • Slovakia highway construction programme on track

    Slovakia is pushing ahead with its road building plans, which will see over 56 m of motorways being completed by end of 2015. This is the main priority of the Slovak Transport Ministry for 2015.   • Slovakia road projects – bidding opens, funding found

    Bidding is underway in Slovakia for the R2 Krivan-Mytna expressway project, which is being handled by the local highway firm NDS. The deadline for bids opened in July 2018 and has been extended now for the second time. Bids will now be received until the 9th November 2018.     The route for new tunnel links for Slovakia’s D1 highway has been agreed. New tunnels now look set to be built on the 13.5km stretch between Turany and Hubova section of the D1 highway.
