Romania receives upwards of 20 tenders for Craiova-Pitesti highway

Romania’s National Company for the Administration of Road Infrastructure has received 20 tenders for two segments of the Craiova-Pitesti highway.

Romania’s National Company for the Administration of Road Infrastructure has received 20 tenders for two segments of the Craiova-Pitesti highway.


Both will be around 57km long and are estimated to be worth around €435 million.

Companies that have tendered include Astaldi, Vahostav, Alsim Alarko Sanayi Tesisleri ve Ticaret, the joint venture (JV) Constructii Erbasu - Vahostav SK - Trameco, Secol Societa Edile Costruzioni e Lavori SA - Secol Romania - Tirrena Scavi JV and Spedition UMB - Tehnostrade - Consitrans JV.

The Craiova-Pitesti highway will have lanes be part of the Pan European Corridor IV.

    A series of major road projects is now getting underway in Poland, while tenders for new projects are also opening. Estimates suggest that the construction of six new ring-roads in the Opolszczyzna region will cost some €356 million. These ring roads all form part of the 2014-2023 National Road Construction Programme. The first projects to be carried out will be for the ring-roads around Mysliny and Niemodlina. In all, the National Road Construction Programme will include the building of 57 ring-roads.

    The European Investment Bank (EIB) has approved two loans worth €85 million for Croatia's road infrastructure. The first part of the loan is worth €60 million and will be used for construction of the Corridor Vc highway. The deal was signed between the EIB and Croatian motorways company Hrvatske Autoceste (HAC). The loan will finance 50% of the construction of the Corridor Vc highway. This includes a 12.5km section of the highway along the southern and northern part of the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina
