Poland: Budimex signs Olsytyn city ring-road contract

Budimex has signed a contract worth more than €214.3 million for construction of the second section of Olsztyn's ring-road. The section will be around 14.7km long and will be completed within 28 months. The bid by Budimex was the fourth lowest offer in the tender, as announced by the Polish General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA).

The section will be around 14.7km long and will be completed within 28 months.

The bid by Budimex was the fourth lowest offer in the tender, as announced by the Polish General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (1361 GDDKiA).

    A series of major road projects is now getting underway in Poland, while tenders for new projects are also opening. Estimates suggest that the construction of six new ring-roads in the Opolszczyzna region will cost some €356 million. These ring roads all form part of the 2014-2023 National Road Construction Programme. The first projects to be carried out will be for the ring-roads around Mysliny and Niemodlina. The section runs from Podborze junction to Sniadowo junction and all bids fall within the investor's budget of around €146 million. The lowest offer reportedly was from a Rubau Polska consortium, at around €112 million, while the highest bid was lodged by Budimex at around €139 million.
