Paraguay bridge deal agreed

A funding package is being provided for the second bridge crossing the Parana River in Paraguay.

A funding package is being provided for the second bridge crossing the Parana River in Paraguay. Itaipu Binacional is to provide a financing package worth US$75 million for this project. The bridge is expected to cost $180 million in all to construct. The bridge will be 3.5km in length, connecting Asuncion with Chaco'i. In addition, Itaipu Binacional is providing the necessary financing for another bridge connecting Carmelo Peralta with Puerto Murtinho.

This route lies in the country’s Chaco region and is expected to cost in the region of US$500 million to construct.
