Loan for highway in India’s Chhattisgarh State

A loan will help pay for a new highway project in India’s Chhattisgarh State. The US$350 million loan is being provided by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). In all the highway is expected to cost $521.7 million, with the remaining $171.7 million being provided by the Indian Government. The new highway is expected to boost trade and transport in the state.

    A new road and bridge project in Cambodia will improve transport between Kampong Thom Province and Kampong Chhang Province. The project is expected cost US$200 million and is being planned by the country’s Ministry of Public Works and Transport. Work on the project is intended to commence in 2021 and will result in the construction of a new 57km road link that will boost trade, tourism and the economic development of these neighbouring provinces.     A series of road projects are planned for India’s Gujarat State, with the work including the construction of a major new bridge. In all the work is expected to cost US$913.5 million. One key portion of the planned work is for the widening the 201.3km stretch of the NH-47 highway running from Ahmedabad to Rajkot to six lanes. The 116.2km NH-51 route from Porbandar to Dwarka will be widened to four lanes. A new cable-stayed bridge will be built from Okha to Beyt Dwarka on the NH-51 route.
