India’s Maharashtra State is setting out a massive programme for infrastructure development. In all some US$47.08 billion of infrastructure works will be carried out. Transport development is a key priority, with a series of major highway construction projects now being planned.

The state authorities have cancelled the bidding process for the Poorvanchal Expressway for the second time. The 341km project was being opened to tenders in eight segments.
