Ghana road work funding approved

Ghana is giving official approval for a new budget to help develop the country’s road network. The plans call for US$313.5 million to be spend on carrying out 14 major road projects. In all, 381km of roads will be improved. The work will be carried out in Ghana’s Ashanti Region, Brong-Ahafo Region, Eastern Region and Northern Region.

The plans call for 175km of roads to be rebuilt in 2019, with the budget for the work set at US$105 million.     A series of major highway construction and road repair projects is planned for Serbia. The World Bank (WB), the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) have all been in talks with the Serbian Government concerning funding for the work. Funding worth €408.46 million has been approved by the three banks for programme of highway construction and road repairs.

    Guatemala has been spending heavily on developing its road network. Work has been carried out to 10 major routes, totalling 153km. One of the important routes to have benefited from improvements is the road connecting Tulate with La Maquina. The country has set a budget of US£208.5 million for road repairs and maintenance works in 2018. A further 25 contracts will be awarded for repairs works in December 2018.
