Funding secured for Indonesia road project

A funding package has been secured that will help pay for a major road project in Indonesia. The project forms part of the Trans-Sumatra toll road and the funding comes in the shape of a loan worth US$600.45 million, which is being supplied by Indonesia’s Bank Negara. Hutama karya will use the loan to help pay for its work on the Terbanggi to Kayu Agung stretch of the Trans Sumatra road project.

The Indonesian Government has been holding discussions with the Asia Investment Infrastructure Bank (AIIB).     Work will commence soon on Indonesia’s South Cikampek II-Jakarta toll road project. The 64km highway project is benefiting from funding from the Bank Negara Indonesia, Bank Central Asia, and Bank Mandiri. These have each contributed US$91.06 million. In all, the project is costing $970 million. The project is being managed by Indonesian firm Jasamarga Japek Selatan.
