Duna Aszfalt wins M44 dualing between Bekescsaba and Kondoros

Hungarian contractor Duna Aszfalt has won the tender for building a section of the M44 dual carriageway between Bekescsaba and Kondoros. The €133 million deal is for 18km of the M44. The other bidders were Strabag Altalanos Epito, Colas Hungaria with Colas Kozlekedesepito and a consortium including Pannon-Doprastav, Subterra-Raab and Domper. Hungarian contractor Duna Aszfalt has won the tender for building a section of the M44 dual carriageway between Bekescsaba and Kondoros.

The €133 million deal is for 18km of the M44.

The other bidders were Strabag Altalanos Epito, Colas Hungaria with Colas Kozlekedesepito and a consortium including Pannon-Doprastav, Subterra-Raab and Domper.

Békéscsaba is near the Romanian border with the M5 iterchange at Kecskemét.

Meanwhile, under the Rural Development Programme, the government said it will boost finances for upgrading roads around smaller towns to more than €90 million.

The S6 expressway links the largest cities in northern Poland, Szczecin and Gdańsk.     Bidding is strong for the works to construct two bypasses in Slovakia. The road links are the 14.5km long northern Kosice bypass and the 8km Presov bypass. Both bypasses form part of the D1 motorway. The estimated value of both projects is nearly €580 million. Slovakia’s national motorway company NDS opened the bids for the Presov by-pass before the end of 2015.
