Denmark: Acciona, Rizzanni and Besix awarded Frederikssund project

The consortium of Spanish construction firm Acciona Infraestructura, Rizzanni of Italy and Besix of Belgium has been awarded the contract to build the Frederikssund motorway connection in Denmark. The consortium of Spanish construction firm 976 Acciona Infraestructura, Rizzanni of Italy and 1303 Besix of Belgium has been awarded the contract to build the Frederikssund motorway connection in Denmark.

The €132 million deal across Roskilde fiord includes 8km of dual carriageway roads with double lane and a 1.3km tolled bridge.

In January 2014, 1419 Arup was appointed as lead consultant to the 2284 Danish Road Directorate – Vejdirektoratet - for the design, procurement and site supervision of the new Roskilde Fjord Link.

There is currently only a fixed crossing over the fjord and the new link will act as a by-pass to the south of Frederikssund.

Opening of the link is expected in 2019.

    4782 Femern, the company charged with building what will be the world’s longest submerged tunnel, has prequalified companies for consulting work.

    The companies will be able to tender for two framework agreements, one for client consulting services and the other for technical in-house consulting services.

    Femern is responsible for building the 18km Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link immersed tunnel between Rødbyhavn in Denmark and Puttgarden in Germany. The estimated cost has increased over the past several years to reach around €7.4 billion.

    An Italian joint venture has won the construction contract for Denmark’s replacement 4km-long road and rail Storstrom Bridge. The Danish Road Directorate – Vejdirektoratet - awarded the work to contractors Itinera, Condotte and Grandi Lavori Fincosit along with bridge design consultant Seteco Ingegneria as a subcontractor. Estimated cost is around €280 million for the 26m-wide single-support cable-stay structure. The European Union will subsidise the work to around €15 million.
