Colombia Caribbean connections under construction

Colombia is working on plans to redevelop transport infrastructure in its Caribbean Region. In all nine road projects are underway, which will cost a total of US$2.8 billion. New highways will connect Cartagena with Barranquilla, Carreto with Cruz del Viso and Antioquia with Bolivar. Also being built area route running through Santa Marta Riohacha, Paraguachon and Cordoba-Sucre as well as part of the Ruta del Sol highway.

    A finance package has been secured in Colombia for the Autopista al Mar 1 highway project. A loan worth close to US$206 million is being provided by the national development bank, Financiera de Desarrollo Nacional (FDN). The highway forms part of Colombia’s 4G infrastructure development plan and the finance package will be provided in three separate tranches.   • Colombia bridge connection completion

    A key bridge connection project has now been completed in Colombia. The work forms part of the construction activity on the Magangue to La Bodega route. The new link connects the 1km long Santa Lucia Bridge with the 2.3km long Roncador Bridge, the latter being the longest bridge in Colombia and the fifth longest in Latin America.
