DB Concrete in the UK is now using a novel 718 Liebherr LTB 12+4+1 concrete truckmixer/conveyor machine. Mounted on a 2796 Mercedes Actross 3241K chassiscab, the conveyor is matched to Liebherr's well-proven and best-selling HTM804L drum assembly. DB Concrete runs a fleet of concrete truckmixers in the Colchester area and recently updated its fleet with two new Liebherr truckmixers with drum capacities of 7m³ and 8m³. The firm opted for the machine with the conveyor unit as it believed this would offer significant operating benefits. The firm now has a fleet offering that includes 9m extended chutes as well as a concrete pump. The Liebherr LTB 12+4+1 truckmixer conveyor is capable of reaching 11.2-16.2m, with a middle and head telescoping sections for precise placement. The conveying height can be up to 7.5m and conveying depth down to 6m. Belt width is 360mm and the conveyor offers a variable belt speed of up to 3.5m/second, allowing it to place up to 70m³ per hour while the entire conveyor can slew between 160º and 240º. The addition of a Liebherr remote control system allows the driver to activate both the truckmixer drum and conveyor remotely, providing control of all belt functions, the discharge chute, vehicle engine on/off and stepless regulation of the drum speed.
