Vögele is restructuring its extensive range of asphalt pavers and screeds The firm is now dividing its range into two separate ranges: the Premium Line and the Classic Line. In addition, the firm will also be subdividing its products into up to five classes within those lines.

The new Classic Line is for pavers equipped with the firm’s own, easy-to-use, ErgoBasic operating concept. These machines benefit from solid construction and quality components and a basic range of operating features. However, these machines offer all the key features required for productive paving work.

The firm says that its Classic Line machines are equipped with engines and screeds that match the national requirements of their respective target markets.

At the same time, 1194 Vögele is combining all pavers featuring the latest technology and advanced mechanical engineering in its Premium Line. These Premium Line products are all equipped with the ErgoPlus 3 operating concept. This system is also said to be quick to learn but offers a number of additional features not included in ErgoBasic. Many functions can be configured using a high-contrast display.

The display also provides the operator with extensive machine and operating information. Data concerning the screed, conveyors and augers can be quickly called up and settings can be changed as required. The automatic programs of Vögele 's AutoSet Plus package are also operated using the display of the ErgoPlus 3 console. If a customer has opted to use the RoadScan temperature measurement system, the paver operator can monitor the temperature of the asphalt being paved on the display.

Customers using the sophisticated WITOS Paving process management solution developed by 2395 Wirtgen can also receive real-time information on the construction project on the display of their Premium Line machines. This is said to increase paving quality as the paving crew can track material supplies for example. Comprising the automatic functions of AutoSet Plus, the PaveDock Assistant communication system and the Vögele EcoPlus low emissions package, Vögele's Premium Line offers all the functionality of the latest "Dash 3" generation.

The firm’s Premium and Classic Lines are further divided into up to five different classes: Mini Class, Compact Class, Universal Class, Highway Class and Special Class. The current total of 48 machines and 26 screed versions offered by Vögele are allocated to one of the lines based on their operating concept and equipment as well as to one of the classes depending on their pave width, performance and areas of application.

Vögele plans to unveil the latest machines in the Classic Line and the Premium Line at the bauma 2019 exhibition in Germany.

The equipment, which allows asphalt to be laid seamlessly, eliminates joints from the outset. The latest version of the paver-mounted pavement heater from Thermal Road Repairs includes start-stop technology. This allows the computerised equipment to operate independently while synchronising with the paver. In TRR’s original system this was a manual process, explains

A Kentucky concrete slipforming contractor is benefiting from new technology in optimising kerb and gutter work. Fox Enterprises now constructs offset kerb, gutter and parking lot island placements using an on-site guidance system. The system permits automated placement of those items, including tight radii. Its fleet recently expanded to include a larger slipform paver that can handle offset curb-and-gutter paving, but also inset pavement slab paving.
