A new work station offers improved use for the TecnoTest system
A new version of 1417 Tecnotest’s computerised work station for daily, large-scale testing of concrete cubes was installed in Doha, Qatar in January this year. The KC 400/WG has been put to work for 2559 Ashghal, Qatar’s public works department.

TecnoTest improved the work station with input from customers such as Istituto Giordano of Bellaria and ANAS, both of which have been using the original version for many years. The KC 400/WG benefits from improved software, operating system and interface and a hydraulic control unit which uses TecnoTest’s patented S&C (silent and cold) power technology.

The work station can handle up to 500 cubes over an eight-hour work period and can test 150mm and 200mm cubes. The automatic compression machine has a four-column structure and a capacity of 4000kN .

Various processes are totally automated, including weighing of specimens by means of a load cell, measurement using a laser beam (for sides) and optical device (for height). A hydraulic device moves every sample to the test area for measurement, weighing and crushing and a second device disposes of the failed sample upon completion of the test, all while the subsequent sample is already being prepared for the testing area.

Latest generation software enables all data obtained to be automatically acquired and processed by the operator via a user-friendly PC interface.
