Dynapac’s compact paver for small job

Dynapac is introducing a new ultra-compact asphalt paver, for use in small paving jobs. The machine can pave 800mm wide, its narrow width and compact dimensions suiting it to use in reinstatement jobs after utilities work, cycle lane, driveway or pedestrian walkway jobs for example. It can also be used for laying sand and gravel base materials, for later surfacing. Dynapac’s new F80W compact paver allows productive operation for small asphalt paving jobs
206 Dynapac is introducing a new ultra-compact asphalt paver, for use in small paving jobs. The machine can pave 800mm wide, its narrow width and compact dimensions suiting it to use in reinstatement jobs after utilities work, cycle lane, driveway or pedestrian walkway jobs for example. It can also be used for laying sand and gravel base materials, for later surfacing.

The firm says that the machine offers a more productive solution for small paving works than traditional hand finishing methods, while also providing a substantial gain in finish quality.

The F80W is equipped with a gas-heated vibrating screed, the V1300V model. The firm says that the machine provides a useful solution for jobsites with a working width range from 0.25-1.65m. The machine is said to be simple and robust in design, as well as being easy to operate. This suits the F80W to helping construct smooth and well compacted surface jobs, which cannot be achieved manually.

When used in combination with the firm’s CC800/CC900 and DTR75 compactors, the Dynapac F80W can deliver high surface quality. The rollers meanwhile ensure that sufficient compaction is achieved. Due to its 1.2tonne weight and its compact dimension, the unit can be transported easily in one piece. A contractor can also carry the paver as well as a suitable compactor on a single truck.

The F80W gas-fuelled screed heats up within 15 minutes. Power for the paver comes from a fuel-efficient 7125 Hatz Diesel engine. The machine is also said to feature robust components that help to maximise service life and utilisation rates.

“This very economic layout in combination with its simplicity makes the F80W the perfect choice for a wide range of applications in constricted spaces,” said Sonja Böttcher, product manager responsible for the F80W. “This ensures evenly compacted layers and a high surface quality.”

Atlas Copco is now introducing its Dynapac Remixer, which is designed to deliver a high quality, homogeneous asphalt mix The unit has been designed to fit inside the hopper of a paver and can help boost mat quality. Research shows that thermal and mechanical segregation of the asphalt mix can trigger problems in the mat including unevenness and irregular surfaces, a larger void content and reduced compaction. These issues can cause long-term problems and will shorten the service life of the paved surf
