298 Peri’s Variokit heavy-duty truss girder system has been designed specifically for tunnel and bridge construction to reach those hard-to-get places.

The heavy-duty truss girder complements the Variokit heavy-duty shoring tower. Peri took into account the load-bearing capacity of the tower as well as the challenging requirements of everyday construction work.

The high-load modular lattice system can be used for spans up to 40m. With the continuously
adjustable telescopic support frame, all spans can be created with centimetre precision.

In addition, the calotte bearing allows easy adaption to the longitudinal and lateral inclinations of the superstructure. The heavy-duty truss girder can be quickly assembled by means of fitting pins. The optional PERI UP scaffolding in the bottom section provides completely safe working conditions.

Peri has developed a new lightweight version of its Variokit falsework system for emerging markets. The Alphakit system spans up to 25m, compared to 40m for its heavier sister, and can be assembled by hand until the final stages when a crane is required to lift the system into place. Still in the final stages of development, the Alphakit is not on show on Peri’s stand. However, Peri is taking customers from emerging markets to view the equipment at its factory in Germany. Like Variokit, Alphakit is aimed at

Innovative formwork systems have been used to construct a variety of bridge structures. Patrick Smith reports. As part of the work on Germany's new A4 autobahn near Eisenach, the contracting joint venture awarded the formwork contract for two of the three viaducts to Doka. What makes this assignment so special to the company is that although the two steel composite bridges each have very different cross-sections, the JV is using the same overslung composite forming carriage to pour the carriageway slabs of
