Work commencing on Vietnam’s key road building project

Work is starting on a section of the road that will connect Son La and Cam Lo in Vietnam.

This new section of road will form a stretch of Vietnam’s North-South expressway project. Building this particular stretch of road is expected to cost nearly US$326 million, with the Vietnamese Government having sourced the necessary funding for the work.

    A series of tenders are opening for Vietnam’s landmark North-South Expressway project. Eight sections of the route are being opened for bidding, with these being planned under the build-operate-transfer model. Financing for these eight stretches will be provided by a combination of bank loans, private investors and government funding. The winning bids should be revealed in early 2020.
