Volvo CE develops excavator for Chinese market

Volvo CE has made the step of developing a 7.5tonne class crawler excavator specifically for the needs of the Chinese market. According to the firm’s president, Melker Jernberg, “It’s developed in China, designed in China and produced in China.” Volvo CE is aiming this model at the needs of Chinese customers and the machine’s development has had considerable input both from SDLG as well as from the local market. Volvo CE’s EC75D excavator is aimed specifically at the Chinese market

359 Volvo CE has made the step of developing a 7.5tonne class crawler excavator specifically for the needs of the Chinese market. According to the firm’s president, Melker Jernberg, “It’s developed in China, designed in China and produced in China.”

Volvo CE is aiming this model at the needs of Chinese customers and the machine’s development has had considerable input both from 5316 SDLG as well as from the local market. The new EC75D weighs from 7.4-7.8tonnes depending on the specification, with power from a D2.6D Volvo Pental diesel that delivers 41kW. The machine has a 0.34m3 bucket as standard and can deliver a bucket force of 56kN.
