Spain will investment €4.56 billion in the development of the Atlantic Railways and Roads Corridor in Galicia up to 2030.

Oscar Puente, minister of transport and sustainable mobility, made the announcement, saying that around €3 billion of the amount will be invested in the Basic Network of the Trans-European Transport Network.

Additionally, €801million will be spent on road infrastructure, including the A-55, AC-1 and AP-9 motorways.

The 32km-long Autovía A-55 runs from the centre of Vigo to the Portugal–Spain border, on the Minho River at Tui, where it connects to the A3 motorway.

The AC-1 starts in Madrid and ends in Irun. It replaced the former national-class N-1 road from Madrid to France. It carries the designation of European route E05 and, as one of the major north-south arteries of Spain, is one of the country's busiest highways.

Meanwhile, the AP-9 or Autoestrada do Atlántico is a 178km-long toll motorway in Galicia. It starts in A Coruña and runs south past the cities of Santiago de Compostela, Pontevedra and Vigo, before ending at the town of Tui.
