Paraguay road project planned, with funding to be sourced

Paraguay is in the process of sourcing a portion of the necessary funding for its Transchaco road project.

Paraguay is in the process of sourcing a portion of the necessary funding for its Transchaco road project. The financing package has to be finalised but could be delivered by the 2791 Inter-American Development Bank (IADB). Funding worth some US$150 million could be provided by the IADB.

However further international funding will be required for the project to be delivered. Including the IADB input, this could range from $400-500 million.

    The Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) is approving a loan worth US$105 million for Paraguay. The loan will cover work along San Juan Nepomuceno -route 6- road. The bank recently approved USD 150mn for Paraguay's national development agency AFD, as well as other loans to support small and medium size companies and improve roads across the country.
