A series of road projects is being awarded in Nepal. The announcements over the winning tenders for 13 projects is being made in Nepal’s capital Kathmandu. Financing worth US$300 million is being provided from Indian sources.
The Spanish government through its Ministry of Works has at least ten road construction projects worth a combined value of US$809.37 million (€600mn) ready for tendering. The investment is widely reported as being much-needed at a time when the sector is undergoing hardship due to the downturn in awarded work, and the sharp fall in tendering levels in 2012. The US Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is providing US$110 million to Puerto Rico’s highway and transportation agency, Autoridad de Carreteras y Transportacion (ACT).
