Nepal road projects moving forward

A series of road projects is being awarded in Nepal. The announcements over the winning tenders for 13 projects is being made in Nepal’s capital Kathmandu. Financing worth US$300 million is being provided from Indian sources.

    A road widening project worth US$134.3 million is now going ahead in Ecuador. The road connecting Aloag with Santo Domingo is being improved along a 100km stretch, widening the route so that it will feature two lanes in either direction instead of the single lane in either direction at present. This will boost the transport connection between Pichincha Province and Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas Province. The contract was originally awarded in 2015 but stalled in 2017 following a disagreement over tolling.

  • A Chinese loan will help develop Macedonia’s roads

    A loan from China will provide a crucial portion of the funding being used by the Macedonian Government to build new highway sections. These highway stretches include key links between from Stip and the existing pan-European, Corridor 10. Once complete the new highway sections will connect Macedonia with Greece and Serbia by road. Other highway sections planned will run from Ohrid to Kicevo and form a portion of the unfinished Corridor 8 intended to connect Macedonia with Albania and Bulgaria. The projects
