Development plan for East Indonesia

The Indonesian Ministry of Public Works and Housing is setting out development plans for East Indonesia. The infrastructure works will include building roads and bridges, with a projected budget of US$931.2 million. One of the main projects will be for the completion of the Trans Papua route, which should be ready for traffic by 2018. The Indonesian Ministry of Public Works and Housing is setting out development plans for East Indonesia. The infrastructure works will include building roads and bridges, with a projected budget of US$931.2 million. One of the main projects will be for the completion of the Trans Papua route, which should be ready for traffic by 2018. The 900km Trans Papua project will run through Merauke to Jayapura, Nabire, Manokwari and Sorong. Some $447 million will be spent developing infrastructure in Papua while a further £298 million will be targeted for infrastructure on West Papua.

  • Indonesia infrastructure development programme planned

    Indonesia’s government has set an impressive 2018 budget of some US$30.72 billion to develop infrastructure in the country. The funding will be split between the Ministry of Public Housing and Works, the Ministry of Transportation and for the special allocation fund.     Indonesia’s Ministry of Public Works and Housing plans to allocate US$415.3 million in 2016 for the Trans Papua road project.
