Cambodian highway construction continuing

Cambodia is continuing with the construction of a key highway project. Work is now underway on building National Road No58. The project has been by a number of Chinese companies, which are investing some US$122 million into the 174km road. The new road will link Samrong city in Uddor Meanchey Province with Poipet City in Banteay Meanchey Province. Construction is being carried out by Chinese contractor Shanghai Construction (Group) General Company. Completion of the construction work is scheduled for August

Cambodia is continuing with the construction of a key highway project. Work is now underway on building National Road No58. The project has been by a number of Chinese companies, which are investing some US$122 million into the 174km road. The new road will link Samrong city in Uddor Meanchey Province with Poipet City in Banteay Meanchey Province. Construction is being carried out by Chinese contractor Shanghai Construction (Group) General Company. Completion of the construction work is scheduled for August 2018.

    Loans from Japan to Cambodia will help finance work on a key highway upgrade. The loan package totals US$150 million and will be used for the project to upgrade Cambodia’s National Road No 5. This major route runs from Poipet city, through Banteay Meanchey to Phnom Penh. The loan was announced by HE Shinzo Abe, Japan’s prime minister in a meeting with Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, the prime minister of Cambodia. The meeting was held at the recent 27th ASEAN Summit in Malaysia.

    A major road project is being carried out in Cambodia to improve the transport link between the capital Phnom Penh and the port of Sihanoukville in Preah Sihanouk Province. Work on the 190km road project will cost in the region of US$1.9 billion and should take four years to complete.
