Work underway on highway widening project in Nambia

Plans are in hand in Namibia for widening work to a road close to capital Windhoek. The road is being upgraded to dual carriageway status and the work is expected to reduce travel times and improve safety along the route, reducing the risk of head-on collisions. The road being improved carries up to 6,500 vehicles/day and stretches from a bridge at Dobra to the Windhoek-Okahandja route. The road is being upgraded to dual carriageway status and the work is expected to reduce travel times and improve safety along the route, reducing the risk of head-on collisions.     Tendering is being opened out for a new dual carriageway connection in Argentina, located just to the south of Mendoza. The 25km link will provide an improved link between Route 7 and Route 40, joining the towns of Palmira and Agrelo. The project is expected to cost close to US$151 million, with financing being provided by the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB). The new dual carriageway will reduce journey times between Palmira and Agrelo.
