A new bridge is being built in Taiwan and is due for completion by June 2016.

A new bridge is being built in Taiwan and is due for completion by June 2016. The bridge will be constructed at Kinmen and will measure 5.4km long. The structure will link Little Kinmen (Lieyu) with Kinmen Island (Greater Kinmen). The project is costing US$239 million. The progress of the construction work is being monitored by the Taiwan Area National Expressway Engineering Bureau.

    In Indonesia plans are being drawn up for a bridge to connect Bintan Isand with Batam Island. In all the bridge connection would measure 7km long and be built in three sections: Batam - Pulau Tanjung Sauh; Pulau Tanjung Sauh - Pulau Buau; Pulau Buau – Bintan.
