The southern section of Serbia's Corridor 10 highway is now carrying traffic, with only final works needed to complete the link. This highway section measures 88km long and runs from Horgos to Bikovo, with all works on the highway section due to be completed by August 2011. Works on the 200km Corridor 10 section that runs from the Hungarian border through the City of Novi Sad, across the Beska Bridge over the Danube river and through to Belgrade is due for completion by early September 2011. The southern part will be 200km long. Work on the Horgos-Novi Sad section of the Corridor 10 highway is estimated to cost some ?97.74 million and the client is Serbian roads company 3235 Koridori Srbije.

  • Serbia reduces cost of highway construction

    Serbia has managed to reduce the cost of building the Corridor 10 highway by €80 million. These funds will instead be used to pay for upgrades and improvements needed for the second section of the highway project, close to Neradovci. So far some 180km of the Corridor 10 highway has been built over a 40 month time frame. A further 150km of the highway has still to be built. Work on the Corridor 10 motorway is also being financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the state budget.

    Serbia’s Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure says that the new Zemun-Borca Bridge will open by 20th December 2014. The Zemum Bridge project will be complete within the planned timeframe, with this work including the access roads.     The Serbian Government is considering a loan from China’s Export-Import Bank, which would pay for the construction of the E-763 highway. The bank looks set to give its approval for the €223 million loan, which would pay for 90% of the construction work for the E-763, or Obrenovac-Ljig, highway.
