Serbia tunnel project due for completion

Works on Serbia’s Strazevica tunnel is due for completion in May 2012. The tunnel forms part of the Belgrade ring road. Serbia’s government is also planning to finish the construction of a total of 200km of the Corridor 10 motorway, following the completion of the Strazevica–Bubanj and Batajnica–Dobanovci sections. Work on the remaining 130km will commence soon. Meanwhile, work on the Ljig–Preljina section of Corridor 11 is now underway.

    The Serbian government has reported that it is planning to sign a loan agreement with China's Exim Bank for new loans worth US$ 1.1 billion for construction of the Corridor 11 motorway. Minister of Finance, Mladan Dinkic, said that the loan will be used for construction of the Belgrade-Ljig and Pojate Preljina motorway parts.     Serbia’s minister of construction and infrastructure, Zorana Mihajlovic, said that the southern part of the Corridor 10 motorway is expected to be completed by the end of 2017.     In Serbia work on the Corridor 10 highway looks set to be completed as planned in 2016. Serbian roads company, Koridori Srbije, says that that the Corridor 10 motorway should be completed by the middle of 2016.
