Philippines bridge projects planned

Plans are in hand in the Philippines for a series of bridge construction projects. Two of the key bridge projects are for links between Luzon and Samar Island and from Leyte Island to Surigao. The work is expected to cost some US$3.85 billion. Construction work could commence in early 2018.

    Chile’s landmark Chacao Bridge project now looks to be back on a sound footing, with completion expected in late 2022 or early 2023. This projects for the 2.6km-long bridge was to have been built jointly by Brazilian firm OAS and South Korean company Hyundai.     Vietnam is pushing ahead with a series of road, highway and bridge projects that will improve the country’s transport network. Feasibility studies for three stretches of the North-South Expressway have been received by Vietnam’s Ministry of Transport (MoT).
