Philippines bridge projects planned

Plans are in hand in the Philippines for a series of bridge construction projects. Two of the key bridge projects are for links between Luzon and Samar Island and from Leyte Island to Surigao. The work is expected to cost some US$3.85 billion. Construction work could commence in early 2018.

    Major new highway projects are now underway in the Philippines. The tender process is opening for the Laguna Lakeshore Expressway-Dike project, which will be worth some US$2.59 billion in all. The new expressway will connect Los Banos with Taguig City and when it is complete, will improve journey times from Laguna to Metro Manila by cutting congestion.   • Project building new Biobio bridge in Chile on track

    Construction work on the fourth bridge spanning Chile’s Biobio Bridge is proceeding on schedule. The project site is located in Chile’s Gran Concepcion area. Construction could commence in 2016, with completion expected in 2018. Environmental studies have yet to be completed however.
