New tunnel link in Serbia’s capital Belgrade

Works on Serbia’s Strazevica tunnel is due for completion in May 2012. The tunnel forms part of the Belgrade ringroad. Serbia’s Government is also planning to finish the construction of a total of 200km of the Corridor 10 motorway, following the completion of the Strazevica-Bubanj and Batajnica-Dobanovci sections. Work on the remaining 130km will commence soon. Meanwhile work on the Ljig-Preljina section of Corridor 11 is now underway.

    A tunnel is to be built between the Belgrade city areas of Savska and Dunavska Padina at a cost between €100-130 million, according to the mayor. Project design was done Ces Cowi which was awarded a tender worth nearly €198,000 by the Directorate for Construction Land.   • Koridori Srbije said it is suffering delays to Corridor 10 work

    Koridori Srbije, the contractor building the eastern section of the Corridor 10 motorway between Nis and the Bulgarian border, said completion will be delayed. The newspaper Vecernje Novosti reported that Koridori Srbije said works on the Prosek-Bancarevo section, Crvena Reka-Ciflik, Pirot East-Dimitrovgrad and the Bancarevo tunnel should be finished by the end of the year.
