New highway announced in Bolivia

Bolivia’s highway expansion programme continues with plans unveiled for a new project worth some US$400 million. The highway will be located in the vicinity of Cochabamba. Discussions over financing the project have been carried out with the Latin American Development Bank (CAF). A timeline for the project has not so far been announced however. The route of the highway has also to be announced.

    Financing has been secured for road rebuilding work in Ecuador. The Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) will provide US$192 million for road maintenance work. The deal was agreed with Ecuador’s Ministry of Transport and Public Works. As a result of the deal, road repairs and improvements will now be carried out in Napo, Manabí, Esmeraldas, Chimborazo, Canar, Azuay and Orellana.
