New highway and tunnel link for the Netherlands

In the Netherlands work on the A9 highway contract will be carried out by the IXAS Zuid-Oost consortium. The consortium includes the companies Heijmans, Ballast-Nedam, Fluor and 3i Infrastructure. The €700 million contract is for the A9 highway between Diemen and Holendrecht and includes building a 3km tunnel as well as a bridge spanning the Gaasp River. The deal includes the 20 year management and maintenance package.

    The second span of the New York’s new cable-stayed bridge has now been completed and has opened to traffic. The final span of the Governor Mario M Cuomo Bridge, which replaced the Tappan Zee Bridge, has now been opened to drivers. The opening was delayed slightly due to concerns over the state of a section of the old bridge, now being demolished. The new link was constructed by a joint venture headed by Fluor.     The Slovakian government is being asked for financial compensation by Granvia, the group building the country’s new Nitra-Banska Bystrica highway. Granvia is building the highway under the PPP model through a 30-year concession deal. The compensation has been requested due to delays that have been caused by the need for archaeological investigations along the route.
