New Guangdong highway for China

A new highway in China’s Guangdong Province is being planned, with construction due to commence in 2019. The 54km link will improve transport for Jiangmen City and is expected to open to traffic in 2022. Called the Yinzhouhu Highway, the project is expected to cost US$1.4 billion to construct. The high expense of the project for its length is due to the undulating terrain, with the need for four tunnel stretches as well as 25 bridges.

    New Zealand’s Waterview tunnel project in Auckland will provide a key link in, boosting capacity and safety while reducing congestion and journey times. A consortium will handle the work for the Waterview Connection road, in a deal worth $1.15 billion (NZ$1.4 billion).     Driving work has commenced for Colombia’s Toro Tunnel project. The tunnel will measure 9.8km long and is located in Colombia’s Antioquia Department, with the completion expected in 2022. The project is costing US$650.5 million and the link is intended to provide a link between the Autopista al Mar 1 and Autopista al Mar 2 highways.
