Interest is strong in the project to build the Yangon Elevated Expressway Project in Myanmar. In all 12 firms applied during the tender process, with 10 companies having subsequently been shortlisted by Myanmar’s Construction Ministry.     Discussions are being held in Myanmar with regard to the country’s Elevated Expressway Project. The Myanmar Government has been in talks with the International Finance Corporation (IFC). The project is expected to cost US$400 million, with work due to commence in 2019 and likely to require 24-36 months to complete.     Momentum is gathering for the construction of a new elevated expressway in the city of Yangon in Myanmar. The project is expected to cost US$400 million ad the expressway will measure 27km-long. The new route will provide an improved road connection for Yangon International Airport to the city’s industrial area, Yangon Jetty and the Thilawa Special Economic Zone. It will also link with the Yangon-Mandalay highway and construction is expected to commence in 2019.
