Major new bridge project for China

A massive bridge project in China is due to commence shortly. The work involves the construction of a bridge that will be nearly 20km long and the project is expected to cost close to US$672 million in all. The bridge will run from Xiangzhou district and connect through to Zhuhai city. The structure is expected to be ready to carry traffic in May 2017.

    In Vietnam work is now underway on the Bach Dang Bridge project. Costing some US$356.5 million, the new bridge will connect the Ha Noi-Hai Phong Highway and the Ha Long-Hai Phong Highway.     An agreement has been reached in Vietnam for construction of a bridge over the Dong Nai River close to Ho Chi Minh City. The proposed 4.5km, six-lane cable stayed structure – the Cat Lai Bridge - could cost as much as US$268 million.
