Laos expressway project under evaluation

Laos is evaluating its plans for the construction of a new expressway for the country’s capital, Vientiane. The project is expected to cost US$150-200 million. The planned route for expressway runs between Xaysettha district's Lao International Trade Exhibition and Convention Centre (Lao-ITECC) and Dongmakkhai village in Xaythany district. Construction of the 14km expressway is expected to commence later this year with its completion due in 2019. The new expressway will run parallel to the existing Kaysone

Laos is evaluating its plans for the construction of a new expressway for the country’s capital, Vientiane. The project is expected to cost US$150-200 million. The planned route for expressway runs between Xaysettha district's Lao International Trade Exhibition and Convention Centre (Lao-ITECC) and Dongmakkhai village in Xaythany district. Construction of the 14km expressway is expected to commence later this year with its completion due in 2019. The new expressway will run parallel to the existing Kaysone Phomvihane Road and its route will pass through six villages in Xaythany district and a further 13 villages in Xaysettha district.

    Work is now well in hand in India on the plans to construct a new highway connecting capital Delhi with Jaipur in Rajasthan.
