Innovative bridge planned for Brunei

A feasibility study is now in hand for a 10km bridge in Brunei to link Temburong with Brunei-Muara. Ove Arup & Partners has been awarded the contract for the bridge study, a deal worth some US$2.1 million that is expected to take 18 months to complete.

A feasibility study is now in hand for a 10km bridge in Brunei to link Temburong with Brunei-Muara. Ove 1419 Arup & Partners has been awarded the contract for the bridge study, a deal worth some US$2.1 million that is expected to take 18 months to complete. When complete the 10km bridge will form part of the 30km road between Temburong and Brunei-Muara. A cost estimate for the 10km bridge and the entire 30km road connection has yet to be revealed however.

    Malaysia-based UEM Group has been invited to bid for the contract to build the 22km long Temburong bridge in Brunei, according to company chairman, Tan Sri Dr Ahmad Tajuddin Ali. The UEM Group is already constructing the 24km long second Penang bridge, of which 16km is over water.
