Ecuador roadworks to be funded by US$367mn Chinese loan
The Ministry of Transport and Public Works in Ecuador (MTOP) has announced that a Chinese loan of US$367 million will fund the restoration of the Catamayo-Gonzanama-Sozoranga-Macara and Celica-Cruzpamba-Y del Muerto roads.

The Ministry of Transport and Public Works in Ecuador (MTOP) has announced that a Chinese loan of US$367 million will fund the restoration of the Catamayo-Gonzanama-Sozoranga-Macara and Celica-Cruzpamba-Y del Muerto roads.
Two new bridge projects planned for Ecuador will cost a total of US$116 million. Studies submitted to the local councils in Guayaquil, Daule and Samborondon determined the cost for building the two bridges to connect these areas. However, an additional $7 million might be needed if another structure is to be built over Samborondon Avenue. Enylic, CPR and Consultola worked on the design studies at a cost of $1.05 million.
Indian company IL&FS Transportation Networks (IL&FS Transportation) will push ahead with vital major national road projects after securing loans worth more than US$480 million from lenders such as Yes Bank, IndusInd Bank and IL&FS Financial Services.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) is providing a loan worth €145 million that will help fund a key highway project in Slovenia. The loan is being given to the Slovenian state highway company DARS for the project to construct a 13km section of the Drazenci to Gruskovje highway. The total cost of the project is €303.4 million. The remainder of the financing required is being provided jointly by the EU and Slovenia itself. Construction work on the project is due to commence in 2015 and continue until mid-2018
