Ecuador roadworks to be funded by US$367mn Chinese loan
The Ministry of Transport and Public Works in Ecuador (MTOP) has announced that a Chinese loan of US$367 million will fund the restoration of the Catamayo-Gonzanama-Sozoranga-Macara and Celica-Cruzpamba-Y del Muerto roads.

The Ministry of Transport and Public Works in Ecuador (MTOP) has announced that a Chinese loan of US$367 million will fund the restoration of the Catamayo-Gonzanama-Sozoranga-Macara and Celica-Cruzpamba-Y del Muerto roads.
The Spanish Ministry of Works requires further funds to complete work on the 261.5km A-11 Duero Highway. A further €1.13 billion is needed to pay for the work on the stretch between Los Rabanos (Soria) and San Martin del Predroso (Zamora) on the border with Portugal. There has already been €54.2 million invested in the project, which paid for construction of the 15.2km of the Aranda de Duero bypass but work is currently at a standstill. Brazil has invested US$18.3 billion (43.8 billion reais) on federal highway projects during phase 2 of PAC, the country’s growth acceleration plan, according to the federal government's 9th balance report on PAC 2 works.
The report, reviewing phase 2's first three years (2011-13) of the four-year programme, states that work was carried out on 3,080km of highway stretches and highlights a number of projects completed last year.

Costa Rica’s road agency Conavi has extended the deadline and increase funds by $154 million for road repair and maintenance contracts.
Contracts will be extended for the companies involved which include Constructora Meco, Grupo Orosi, Quebradores del Sur, Constructora Hernan Solis and Conansa.
