Ecuador roadworks to be funded by US$367mn Chinese loan
The Ministry of Transport and Public Works in Ecuador (MTOP) has announced that a Chinese loan of US$367 million will fund the restoration of the Catamayo-Gonzanama-Sozoranga-Macara and Celica-Cruzpamba-Y del Muerto roads.

The Ministry of Transport and Public Works in Ecuador (MTOP) has announced that a Chinese loan of US$367 million will fund the restoration of the Catamayo-Gonzanama-Sozoranga-Macara and Celica-Cruzpamba-Y del Muerto roads.
A loan worth nearly US$113 million from the China Development Bank will be used to improve key road connections in Ghana. The four sections of road are in the south west of the country and are important links to the country’s oil and gas producing areas. In all, the China Development Bank is providing a lending facility worth a total of $500 million to Ghana’s Ministry for Roads and Highways. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has extended a US$196.5 million loan to Kazakhstan to fund the reconstruction of 62km of road from Shymkent to the Uzbekistan border. The project is part of the construction of the Western Europe - Western China transport corridor.
