Croatia digs deep to finance River Sava bridge into Bosnia
Croatia is to pay €70 million as its share for a bridge across the River Sava near Gradiska, in Republika Srpska, part of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
A year ago, the European Commission set aside a €6.8 million grant for construction of the bridge.

A year ago, the European Commission set aside a €6.8 million grant for construction of the bridge.
A €10 million contract from the European Commission will form the basis of work to strengthen essential infrastructure development across the Western Balkans. A consortium led by Mott MacDonald, and including WYG and WS Atkins has been awarded this contract to carry out the engineering consultancy work required for the infrastructure expansion. Bosnia’s autonomous Republika Srpska has picked China Shandong International and Technical Cooperation to construct and operate the Banja Luka-Prijedor motorway. Talks with China Shandong start this month for the 25-30 year concession for the 42km motorway. The company will fund construction and then collect tolls as part of repayment, according to media reports.
