Croatia digs deep to finance River Sava bridge into Bosnia
Croatia is to pay €70 million as its share for a bridge across the River Sava near Gradiska, in Republika Srpska, part of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
A year ago, the European Commission set aside a €6.8 million grant for construction of the bridge.

Croatian media are reporting a dispute between two consortia and that of the China Road and Bridges over the Peljeski bridge project. Croatia’s national roads company Hrvatske Ceste chose China Road and Bridges but the decision is being challenged by a consortium led by the Italian firm Astaldi and one by Turkish CT Ictas. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has granted a US$198million (€150million) sovereign-guaranteed loan for the construction of part of the new Banja Luka-Doboj motorway in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Key road construction projects are now moving forward in Bosnia with work on-track for the Sarajevo ringroad as well as the Corridor Vc highway.
