Contractors win Polish road tender

Two contracts have been awarded for work on sections of Poland’s S7 dual carriageway. Contractor Metrostav has won the tender process for the construction of a stretch of the S7 dual carriageway. Two contracts have been awarded for work on sections of Poland’s S7 dual carriageway. Contractor Metrostav has won the tender process for the construction of a stretch of the S7 dual carriageway. The 20km section of the route Metrostav has the contract for lies between Gdansk's southern ring-road and Elblag. The value of this project is anticipated as being in the region of €392 million. Meanwhile contractor 3302 Budimex was won the package of works for the second section of the S7 dual carriageway. This 19km long section of the S7 is worth €375 million.

    Polish contractor Budimex has won a tender to build a 20km-long section of the S61 dual carriageway in Poland. The section runs from the Wysokie junction to Raczki, the national highways authority GDDKiA announced. Budimex bid just over €484 million for the 29-month design-build contract. Last summer, the Italian contractor Impressa Pizzarotti picked up a deal for 24km of the S61 from Suwalki to the border with Lithuania for around €144.6 million, according to media reports.     Poland’s highways directorate, GDDKiA, says 12 bids have been received for construction of the second section of the S7 dual carriageway. The 15km section will run from the Lesznowola junction to the Tarczyn Polnoc junction. Metrostav submitted the highest offer at €118 million, while the cheapest offer came from a consortium of Porr Polska Infrastructure and Porr Bau. Other bidders include others, Budimex, Intercor and Polaqua.
