Plans are being drawn up in Colombia for a number of new tertiary roads in Valle del Cauca Department. A new highway will be built in Valle del Cauca department, while a new road will improve connections between Mulalo and Loboguerrero.
Colombia's future 4G road programme now includes a new project, to provide a new link from Popayan to Santander de Quilichao. The three month consultation process has been completed and the steps needed for an environmental license to be awarded are now underway. Should all continue to go to plan, construction of the 77km link should commence in August 2018, although a target for the completion date has yet to be announced.
In Honduras plans are being drawn up for the tourism corridor tollroad project. This route will connect the cities of San Pedro Sula, La Barca, El Progreso, Tela, and La Ceiba port on the Atlantic Coast, reports Business News Americas. The project has made another move forward as it has received support from the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (Miga).

Cambodia is hoping to start work on a new expressway running from capital Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville in late 2017. The 190km expressway is expected to cost in excess of US$1.5 billion and the project has been planned by Cambodia’s Ministry of Public Works and Transport. Once the new expressway is complete, it will improve transport and reduce journey times along the route between Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville, while also improving safety for road users.
