In Morocco the tender process is opening for studies into the Beni Mellal-Marrakesh-Safi highway as well as a by-pass east of Marrakesh. The Moroccan Government opened the tender and is aiming to have the highway ready for traffic by 2020. The authorities are considering three possible options for the highway. Nicaragua’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure (MTI) is setting out its road development programme for 2018. In all the plans call for the construction of 171km of roads. Work will be completed for the road from Mulukuku to Siuna, with the first 23km stretch due to open in September 2018 and the remaining 21.5km expected in December 2018. An important new highway connection is being planned in the Czech Republic. The road will provide a link between the D8 Teplice highway and the Chomutov expressway.
