Key Chinese highway work is being planned.

An important highway project is being carried out in China. The project calls for the construction of the second and third phase of the G235 Youxi Xicheng-Xinyang highway.

Work is already being carried out on the first phase of the highway. This includes preparatory works for the new Tengban Bridge as well as for the main road alignment.

The project is costing an estimated US$171.5 million and the highway will be around 40km long. Of note is that the road is being constructed of concrete.

    New Zealand prime minister John Key led an official ground-breaking ceremony this week to allow the start of excavation work for two new 2.4km-long motorway tunnels beneath suburban Auckland. The Waterview Connection project is on schedule to begin its main construction phase next year, and the prime minister was on hand to turn the first soil for a 30m-deep trench which is needed to allow access for the tunnels’ southern approach trench in the west Auckland suburb of Owairaka.

  • Chinese investors eye Brazilian work, including federal highway BR-153

    Chinese investors are reported to be negotiating a contract to work on a section of federal highway BR-153 that goes from Anapolis in the Brazilian state of Goias to Palmas,n in Tocantins. The road is part of the Transbrasiliana Highway. The section was originally awarded to Brazilian construction firm Galvao Engenharia in September 2014, but the company never started expansion works.
