China's Anhui Province is planning key transport projects for 2012.

These include preliminary work for the Chizhou Yangtze River highway bridge, Yuexi-Wuhan and Ma'anshan-Chaohu highways. The authorities in Anhui Province are also planning to commence work on the Ningguo-Jixi, Xuancheng-Ningguo, Xuzhou-Guangming and Fuyang-Xincai highways during this year. Anhui Province intends to speed up work on the Ma'anshan Yangtze River highway bridge construction as well as the constructions of Zhenglou-Guolou, Huangshan-Qimen, Wuhu-Yanchi, Jixi-Huangshan and Suzhou-Sixian highways. In addition, the Liu'an-Yuexi-Qianshan and Liu'an-Wuhan highways will be completed in 2012.

    A new road and bridge project in Cambodia will improve transport between Kampong Thom Province and Kampong Chhang Province. The project is expected cost US$200 million and is being planned by the country’s Ministry of Public Works and Transport. Work on the project is intended to commence in 2021 and will result in the construction of a new 57km road link that will boost trade, tourism and the economic development of these neighbouring provinces.
