Bulgarian road deals being planned

A series of road rebuilding and improvement works is being planned in Bulgaria. A consortium will handle the €152.4 million contract to reconfigure a 30km stretch of road connecting Vidin with Botevgrad. A series of road rebuilding and improvement works is being planned in Bulgaria. A consortium will handle the €152.4 million contract to reconfigure a 30km stretch of road connecting Vidin with Botevgrad. The consortium is made up of the Bulgarian firms PST Sofia, PST Group, Nivel Stroy, PST Vidin, and Patengineering-M. Meanwhile the tendering process is open for the Barovo Bypass project, which is expected to be worth €136.6 million. This project is complex and includes building a 7.6km stretch of road, improving a 2.9km road section and also building five tunnels, with a combined length of 4km.

    Arpad Ersek, Slovakia's Minister of Transport, said another two tenders for construction of two R2 expressway stretches will be called by the end of 2018.     Driving work has commenced for Colombia’s Toro Tunnel project. The tunnel will measure 9.8km long and is located in Colombia’s Antioquia Department, with the completion expected in 2022.
